  1. Pre-qualify by completing one of these races IRON within the specified time:

    1. M2M or the Molokai Challenge in under 4 hours

    2. North Shore Challenge - (Maliko to Fleming) in under 4.5 hours

    3. Kaiwi Solo in under 6 hours

    4. Further qualifying criteria (see note 2 below) will be required if you are 1.) entering as an OC-1 paddler having only raced on an OC-2; 2.) entering to paddle iron having only raced on a relay team; or 3.) your qualifying time is over 5 years ago.

    5. OC-6 experience will NOT be considered.

- OR -

  1. Answer the qualifying questions in the Paddler Registration Form so that MPH can determine if you qualify to race including 1.) your rough water open ocean racing experience & finishing time(s), & 2.) The email address of an MPH-recognized coach who can vouch for your level of expertise.

If the MPH race director believes that you may not be able to complete the race in under 4.5 hours safely, your entry will be denied. Your entry will be cancelled if the MPH race director is unable to verify your ability due to a lack of information or unknown references. Please note your entry fee will be refunded if your entry is denied.

REGISTRATION PROCESS

Please note registration for this race has multiple steps. MPH will review your qualifying information once

you complete the steps below and pay for the race. You will be notified, and your entry fee will be refunded

if you do not meet the qualifications.

  1. VESSEL REGISTRATION - this registration on Racehub is Step 1. Claim your spot first, register the vessel you will be racing on, select your division, enter your teammates (if any), and pay your race fee.

  2. PADDLER REGISTRATION - you will receive a link in your confirmation email after completing the vessel registration. EVERY paddler (including yourself if you are on a team) must complete their own paddler registration where we will collect specific paddler information along with a waiver. Paddler registration must be complete within 48 hours of this registration to avoid entry being cancelled.

  3. PADDLER VERIFICATION - After completing paddler registration our vetting committee will review your qualifications and extend an official registration acceptance. You are NOT registered until you receive an email approval to participate in NSC Day 1.

  4. ESCORT BOAT REGISTRATION - all escort captains are required to complete the escort registration and requirements. You must have an escort boat if you are a relay team. If you are going Iron or OC2, it is not mandatory to have an escort boat, but always a good idea.
