WAYS TO DONATE FINANCIALLY

Do you want to help Maui paddlers and paddling families?

The Maui Strong Paddling Fund is providing financial resources and assistance to Maui paddling community members to help with long term needs to rebuild their lives and get them back on the water.

The Maui Paddling Hui has developed a committee including representation from all canoe clubs as well as community members to help assess needs and allocate funds.  For more information please email mphreg@gmail.com.

Maui Padding Hui is currently a 501(c)(4) organization with an application in process to become a 501(c)(3) organization. While gifts to 501(c)(4) organizations are not deductible as charitable contributions, once the IRS provides a determination letter confirming its 501(c)(3) status, all gifts received will qualify to be deductible as charitable donations. We will provide you with a letter confirming your gift as soon as the IRS responds to our application. Please contact your tax preparer for advice about how this might affect you.

Do you have an expertise a paddling family in need may benefit from?

Do you have items you want to directly donate to the paddling community and members?   Please view our message board about COLLECTION AND DISTRIBUTION OF GOODS.  There you will find different canoe clubs or locally organized groups who are doing shipments to Maui with goods.

If you would like to organize a goods collection in your paddling community to be delivered to Maui please email directly at kealani@kaiwaa.com.

We are fortunate to live in a world where services can be offered remotely.  As the Maui community works together over the coming weeks, there will be a number of services that could be helpful to paddling community members.  Services like mental health and therapy, insurance and legal aid, and remote employment for those who lost their jobs.

If you have a service you would like to donate please email kealani@kaiwaa.com and we can get it listed.
